ABOUT US
THE JOURNEY
It started as a solution to a personal problem
OUR MISSION
Most golfers are trying to solve the wrong problem. We know we were.
For years, golf instruction, fitness, club fitting, and performance training have existed in separate worlds. Players are told to change their swing without understand what their body can do, or how it even relates to getting better. Golfers are given fitness programs that don't have any clue why this exercise may or may not be harmful to the individual's specific golf swing, or what the goal of adaptation should even be.

Space City Golf Lab was created to change that.

Michael and Jordan (during Michael's professional golf career) began exploring what effective training and great instruction should look like because 1) Michael had a really bad back injury working with a golf fitness trainer, so they figured they needed to find a better way to workout, and 2) the goal was to be the best player in the world.

And as it turns out, the body and the swing are inseparable: you can't change one without the other.

That is our North Star: the body and the swing are one, and every golfer deserves clarity on what they can or can't do, why they do it, and what needs to change if they really want to get better. Our mission is to clarify that process, and leave no doubt on the pathway forward.

By combining golf instruction, fitness, movement assessment, performance testing and objective data under one roof, we help golfers eliminate guesswork and focus on what matters.
THE TEAM
Michael is a golf nerd. He always has been, from high school to Rice University, through his journey as a professional player, and now as a coach. He loves knowing the intricacies of getting better, what makes ball flights different, what good training is, and why Bermuda is the hardest grass to chip off of (like, seriously!)

He also loves to coach. Sometimes, on the way to work, he drives by a lottery billboard and asks himself, "What would I do today if I won the lottery?" To which the response is, "I think I'd go coach at the gym."

It's just in the DNA.
Â
Michael is so glad you're here, hopes you are ready to a high-energy interaction, and would most of all, like to talk golf or Jesus with you.
Â
Jordan is the reason all of this exists. She has always been a fitness enthusiast, including making exercise physiology one of her majors (who double majors??) at Rice University, where she competed on the soccer team.
Â
She started training and coaching fitness and nutrition early on and became well known in the Houston industry before any of this Space City Golf Lab stuff started.

If you don't find her with her husband or three precious boys, she might just be watching Premier League Soccer on Saturday mornings with a wonderful cup of fancy coffee.
Harrison is a golf expert. Plain and simple. From Boerne, TX, he grew into a highly-sought-after recruit by Universities, and eventually selected Rice University as his school of choice.

He had a solid collegiate career before graduating and transitioning into competing as a professional, working at Cordillera Ranch, coaching at Texas State University, and Rice University.
He brings the most education out of anyone on our team, and his love of data and stats proves it.
Akshay is the happiest person we've ever met. Never one short on a laugh or smile, he brings an infectious energy to the team.Â
Also a collegiate soccer player (we might have two types of people here: golfers and soccer players), he has extensive knowledge of training, having worked with high school, collegiate, and performance athletes.

Akshay has been a personal trainer for over 10 years, and is an avid golf fan and follower. Â If you really want to get him fired up, start talking about putting and just how difficult it can be.
